Pope's mounts were micrometer, but they weren't click! Pope's flyers for his mounts specifically said he intentionally did not use click adjustments, as he felt the need to stop between clicks for precision shooting. What Pope did use was a lockring, and his windage was a lefthand thread to allow the scope to be adjusted like a iron sight.
The first time I tried to adjust my Ballard's Pope mounts it gave me fits! I read a Pope brochure and duh! The light came on!
Malcolm used a micrometer type mount way before Fecker, Lyman, Stevens, or Unertl were even around. It didn't work off the same style as the others, but it is considered a micrometer style mount. Cataract Scopes were also micrometer mounts before Stevens, and Stevens bought Cataract to get into the scope business in 1900. Cataract and Malcolm were both in business from around 1880.
