Get a 300-400 dollar blank find someone with a Hoenig pantograph to do the inletting and do the shaping yourself and out source the final finishing and checkering.I see no reason why stocking is so costly especially when you have a really good original stock to copy measurements from. The inletting is the hard part and the Hoenig pantograph ,will make you a one to one copy .the straight grip guard is about 400 or so and then the engraving or you could leave it plain and just have it as your user.
