You are very right!

Has anyone ever followed a thread about waiting for some company to import a 45-70 sxs into the USA? There is a great deal of demand and no product. The largest game most Americans will ever hunt is a deer. Take a look at the sheer numbers of licenses issued. Even in the old Springfield Trapdoor loading the 45-70 makes a decent deer gun for the brush. For boar the 45-70 is a great round. I have used it and it takes a boar down very quickly.

In the proper loading the 45-70 can be a great round. Being able to slip in an insert or a second set of barrels that have been converted is very appealing.
