Any one ever had work done by Griffin and Howe? I am looking at one of their guns and it will require quite some work to be done to get it where I woul be happy. They are giving me a good price on it all. They are really nice and answer all my questions. Just wonder about the quality of their work.

I have had several things done by them over the years and overall I think they are very good gunsmiths. I feel they can be a bit pricey but I live 20 minutes from their store. I feel it is worth the extra sometimes do face to face business and not have to ship valuable guns thru the mail. They did two stock repairs for me that are nearly invisable. I fell in Maine hunting grouse and smashed and cracked the forend of my near mint condition Browning superposed. If i did not tell you it happened I doubt you could find the repair. The other was a an A & S forend that I dropped on the floor and cracked the sharp edge of the semi-beaver tail (that was in Maine grouse hunting also, I need to stay away from Maine). It looks like it never happened. I have had several other repairs and know of many others who have done business there and were happy with their work. Good luck with the gun I am sure they will make you happy.

Its been years, back when I lived in "Nort Jersey" and I too would visit the store in Bernardsville.Mostly minor stuff, replace bead on a pre war super, open chokes on a Garbi and they did a good job.Half the fun was fondeling all the guns for sale when you went to drop off or pick up.Worth the price I thought.Used to deal with a Paul I think, nice guy.

I have had various repairs and modifications done by Griffin & Howe and have always been more than pleased. Work included stock bendng, rust bluing, and 22 stock broken off at the wrist repaired. I don't even consider anyone else, even for routine work like recoil pad installation.
