Thank you Don, this confirms what someone else told me about the emblem being glued down. I tried forever, it seems, to find a 101 waterfowler. I gave up and bought a 32" 101 in trap configuration, perfect condition. I took the drop at heel down to a hair under 2 1/4 and put in a bit of face cast. Now I need to remove the remaining finish on the stock. I will replace the existing finish with an oil finish and removing the grip cap would make things easier. I think I will try to go forward without removing it and hope for the best. Once again, thank you.
