I've seen two pieces stocked by Thayer, one an '03 Springfield, the other an XE Fox. The friend I got the Springfield from lives in Portland and knew of Thayer. He said Thayer had been a machinist who made stocks for himself and friends. His work on both these guns was quite competent though the Fox had been stocked with a pretty garish piece of claro.From what I heard it seems he must have made only a few stocks. The quality of his inletting was impressive.
