Nice. What grade is it? Seems to be lightly engraved in the early style, but I've never seen that "sunflower" design on a top lever.
Do you shoot the old papers in it?
PS: the pics are about maximum size for viewing. That's OK, but your file size could be about 1/3 what it is. You wouldn't sacrifice any quality and it would help people with slow connections.

Yes, John, one and the same. It's in such good condition as is I just have never decided to do anything more to it. The lace-on leather pad covers the original black Hawkins, which in in excellent condition as well. Previous owners must have done as I do all my longarms, and stored it muzzle down.

Mike, it is an HE. I shoot Bismuth in it. It has 3" chambers and that's what it gets fed.
I don't shoot those old papers, too hard to come by. I do have almost a whole box of the Super X Luballoy loads it was built around, and intend to pattern them in it one day and post the results.
Thanks for the tip on reducing the photo size. I'll try to figure out how to do that before next try. Thanks all.
Stan

Stan, I assume that puppy is in the Fox Collectors Association HE database. If it is not, you might consider adding it. What is the serial number?

Stan: You did the right thing and did not send it off. I appreciate your reluctance in dolling up a beautiful grandmother. Just cherish her and make memories. Best, John

eightbore, Sorry for the delay in replying, I had to take my eldest son and family to the airport to fly back to AZ. I will be submitting photos and all pertinent info for my Foxes to the database very soon. I was waiting to learn how to post photos to do it all at once. I just got in and am having some friends over for a dove shoot this afternoon, so I'll post the ser. no. on the big Fox tonight here.
Thanks, Stan

Okay, here is the data on the HE Fox pictured above. It is 32", choked full and full. Stock dim's are 14 1/8" l.o.p., 2 3/4" d.a.h.. It weighs in at 9 lbs. 5 oz., and is chambered for 3" shells.
It was shipped on Oct. 20, 1927, from Philly, to Hibbard, Spencer Bartlett and Co. in Chicago, Il. S/N is 31794.
I will be posting some photos on the Fox site soon of this and a 32" A grade weighing 7 lbs. 10 oz. and built in 1913, and a 30" Sterlingworth built in 1929, with S/N's.
