Hi Frank, the Model 22 was made for Winchester by Laurona Arms (Eibar, Spain) in the mid 70's. The gun was in 12ga only, with 28" bbls (IC/Mod or M/F). It was a DT, PG, BTFE gun with an oil finished stock and light engraving on a black chrome (not blued) action.

This gun was in limited production and I have only seen one for sale along time ago. I also think it was offered with an english stock. I think the weight would be in the 7lbs range depending on wood density of course.

Hope this helped some.

All the best!!

Greg

Greg is right about the Model 22.

Winchester offered six SxS shotguns: The English made Hammer Guns, The M21, M22, M23, M24 and the Japanese made Parker Reproductions.

They were simple BLNE guns made in Spain by Laurona. The two I have examined sucked. Get Model 24 in 16ga or 20ga instead. It's less expensive (because Mod. 22s are rare being sold in 1970s in Europe and Canada) and is much better US made shotgun.

The two I looked at had dts, pg stock, and large splinter fe. Fit and finish sucked few hunters bought them therefore Winchester nixed their production.
The barrels are marked Winchester Proof Steel.

I saw one at the Louisville show a few years ago. I think they were asking about $1500.00 for it in about 95% condition. I believe I had seen another one a few years before that for around $1200.00 at the same show.

I haven't seen one in a long time. Based on asking prices above, I'd say they're not worth it as a "shooter"; might be worth it to a Winchester collector if mint, because there are not very many of them.

Buy CZ-Huglu. Better fit & finish plus choke tubes.
