He just has a DNA connection to the British - I guess ??

Maybe jOe wants to show us the error of our ways. He can buy this gun and restore it to its former low end status. This gun was never anything that special.

Many people see a little engraving and go crazy on these old British guns. When made the best British guns got about 5 pounds worth of engraving. About 5-10 % of the gun value if lucky. We see engraving and run up the value 50%. A very good investment, it turns out.

Review it again. Off face. Bad restock. Poor refinish of metal. Bet those barrels are getting thin to boot. That gun is a mistake waiting to be bought. It is not even good looking, with that stock and should not be hung over a fireplace. I will say it again, $300.00 is too much for the trouble that gun will be to fix back into a decent gun, if at all possible. Go for it jOe. Please take plenty of pictures of both your money wasted and the gun you end up with. That is too up hill for my taste. Merry Christmas to you jOe.

Look at the rest of this guy's guns on gunbroker. There isn't anything that isn't at least 50% overpriced.

Which is inline with 95% of the guns on the auction sites.

Bentley and Playfair and later Hollis, Bentley , and Playfair were gunmakers to the trade in Birmingham. They did make a few guns with their own name and their London address. They advertised all qualities of guns. Below is a higher quality. I would guess their production might have been second to Scott and Webley and Scott in total Production.
