I'd like to end the year by saying thanks to a few favorite companies. MEC reloaders for your excellent customer service and personal help. Environmetal(maker of Hevi-Shot)thanks Kelly in customer service for help in getting me the Classic doubles, and to Cabelas for putting up with me even after I returned my third pair of waders with no questions asked. I hope you deel the same a few years down the road...after you shoot the Hevi-shot Classic doubles ammo.
What gun you plan on shooting it in ?

I never said I liked how the ammo performed. I've already shot most of it up out of my mdl 21's. Shoots fine, just doesn't kill well. But they treated me very well and as far as I'm concerned make the best ammo available(Hevi-shot)for ducks and geese. So they still get my props. JW

My only concern with the Hevi Shot vintage ammo is....
I don't believe a coating is going to protect the bores of a vintage shotgun from the hardness of Hevi Shot.

Don't know where you got the misinformation about a coating on the pellets. Heres a picture for you I took this morning, before and after a tap with a hammer. The Classic Double shot is not coated Hevi-shot. JW

Well, it's happened again; a thread that has wandered off course. What started off as a testament to the good companies has morphed into a discussion of the attributes of Hevi-Shot.
