A reader of my newspaper column just brought a Parker B grade less the barrels to my house. He knows the location of the cut original barrels though they are not with the gun. The gun has been restocked in American walnut but has the original forend wood. The case colors are quite strong, there is no rust or pitting, the original barrels are said to be in very good shape and the forend is in quite good condition.
He plans to call me and give me the frame number off the barrels (it looks like a #2 frame to my eye). I know something about Foxes but I’m pretty dumb about Parkers. How hard would it be to fit a set of barrels off another gun to this gun. The dolls head would complicate things quite a bit wouldn’t it?
Would it be economically feasible to do this given the high grade of the gun? I wouldn’t even consider it with a V grade.
