I have a Parker Repro A-1 and one of the ejector blades protrudes from the barrels when the gun is taken down and the forend replaced. Looking at it, one of the hammer ejectors in the forend is not resetting. I understand that Winchester 21's ejectors protrude and was wondering if this was normal for a Parker? If not how do you remedy this?

IM, I assume the repro ejectors are made the same as the original ones Parker Bros used, this system is quite complex and has a sear-trigger arrangement. The hammer should stay in the cocked position unless the barrel fired and the gun opened. It should also stay cocked when you remove the forend. Chances are one of the delicate sears is damaged or not engaging or it could be dirt or an obstruction is keeping it from working correctly. Probably best to see a competent gunsmith who is familiar with these ejectors.

If the ejector hammer in the forend wil not stay cocked even after trying to cock it with a wooden dowel it is likely that the ejector hammer is broken. There is a ninety degree cocking catch (for want of a better word) that is cut differently than the original Parker ejector hammers were. The process was probably an oversight in machining the Repro hammers and, had the Japanese engineers given it a bit more thought they would have cut the inside of the ninety degree catch on a radius as were the originals to eliminate a stress crack and subsequent break at the sharp cut of the inside 90. One of mine broke and I finally had to buy an original hammer and have it fit and timed to my gun. I hope yours might be a simpler fix.

It will cock back with a dowel. It's just that one the ejector hammers isn't getting cocked back by the gun when it is opened. it's just the right barrel. I wonder if it is a simple adjustment, or maybe they cut the push rod short at the factory? By the way, who could fix this for me?

My SCC Parker Repro had the exact same symptoms you describe your gun as having. Mine turned out to be a cracked ejector hammer. Louis Rotelli can make you a new ejector hammer, here's his e-mail address: mustangs1@aol.com

bamboozler, out of curiosity, how much did he charge you for the new ejector hammer? Also how is that Fox of yours? Is it complete yet? I'd love to see a photo of the finished gun!
