There is an engravers forum. See :-

http://www.engravingforum.com/showthread.php?t=1494

Scroll down this page and look at the fine art, some of the inlay work must have cost more than the Purdey or Holland & Holland that it covers.

It's an interesting site with many techniques being explained and a number of 'how to do it' pointers. Lots of different styles of engraving as well. All I need now is loads of money. lol.

Enjoy,

Harry

I have a couple of custom Low Walls that are kind of 'lost' in photoland. The last of my film photos and my scanner isn't good enough to convert to digital images.

Here is something that is a little different and interesting...

I don't know where I got this, but maybe it's another of Ken's pieces.

Brent:

That is unquestionably Hurst's scroll. It is pretty distinctive.

Mr. Hughes:

I know that we are into blonde and brunette territory here, but I really like the engraving by Mr. Peters on the Garbi 20. Wonderful composition.

This is the same ACGG member that lives in Wash. State and is currently battling bladder cancer. I like everything about Larry's work, but most of all he really knows how to layout a sidelock with tradition and verve!
Here's a Sterlingworth conversion he did several years ago and how I got to know him. I believe Kathy Forster checkered the gun but Larry did all of the metal, stocking, chisel work and engraving. He has since learned to checker.

I did a story about Peters a few years ago in SSM. I think he is coming to the Reno show, but I'm not sure. Unfortunately, he is not currently working.

Yep, that'll do...

Next time you speak with Mr. Peters, tell him I picked his work out of a line up. Our best wishes and prayers for him.

Gentlemen;

Talked to Larry recently. He is still not fully strong(his words) because he can only walk two miles a day instead of five. He is doing about 20 minutes of work at a time and has to rest for about four hours. He is looking forward to being at Reno...however he will not exhibit this year.
