I think I posted on this a while ago, and was told to use liberal quantities of rust-attacking oil (liquid wrench type stuff)and a very thin screwdriver or old chisel to very carefully pry the pins out of the holes in the reciever. I've been through 4-5 reps of this, and cannot get them out so far--I may not be using enough force, but seeing as how replacements are somewhat scarce, I need to take my time...
Anyone have any other tips or info on how to do this??
Thanks,
Dave

Try for a little rotation, a left -right movement of even .15 will break it loose.

Forgot a "0" the movement is .015. Oscar used to use a medical instrument to wiggle them.

Blind holes on pressed in things are something an ol toolmaker taught me never to do. Evidently, the engineer on this design didn't learn that lesson or they had 'kids' way back then too.

I sharpened a nail and gently tapped on them between the spring and the frame until they moved a little. Once I got them moving it was no trouble but getting them to move is the hard part.

When you try to rotate them, don't pry on the open end of the spring. If you make a tool (a small screwdriver sharpened to a chisel point works well) and drive it under the lower spring as close to the pin as possible. The pin is actually tapered and once moved usually comes out easily. This must have been a problem for Parker as it was changed in their re-design between 1910 and 1920.

I learn something every day, and a lot of times it's that what I learned the day before was wrong
