Not quite Ny and almost-as-good but I got out in Northern NJ with a friend, sans dog, and we FINALLY managed to find our limit of woodcock a coupel times. They were mostly in the THICK thorns and we each gave at least a pint of blood to the effort.

We did get reports of a few grouse in the area and managed to wild flush one but didn't connect with any.

I got good reports from a friend in NE Pa on both woodcock and Grouse.
