The Swedes refer to the 9.3x57 as the "potato thrower. I'd think you'd see that fat bullet in midair at that velocity, just don't get in the way of it!
I have a 9.3x62, custom Mauser, 20" bbl, 6 port magna-ported (as it broke the wire crosshairs twice in a 6x45 Pecar scope)
I did a ton of re-loading for it and have a bunch of data.
My final load with a 270 gr Speer SP bullet is 2512 fps,3750 ME, I think, with AA2520 powder, very accurate load.
Factory RWS 293 TUG bullet clocked 2298 fps on my chrono.
Barnes X 250 gr solid copper bullet testing was discontinued as pressure levels were high, velocities low. Now I see there are relieving grooves on the bullet. I did cut some grooves on a X bullet on my lathe, it solved the problem but was too tedious so I gave it up. I use Norma brass, RWS brass seems too hard, bad pressure signs with my standard load, that is OK in the Norma brass.
