The pawnshop proprietor was an old-timer who had an "in" with someone high in the Remington heirarchy. So far as I recall it was a one shot deal, my impression was that there were at least a hundred guns that came out. A few had been shot a lot, supposedly testing Rem ammo, but most were pristine ... now that I think of it a few were spoiled with Remington ID numbers scratched or electropenciled onto the wood or metal. I must have bought a dozen but only the 63 is left.
