Check Galazans web site. They have one catagorey that is called Novelty items. There are stocks and some forends with iron there. Not cheap but Galazans woulden't be Gaalzans without steep prices.

There is a Fox Sterlingworth 12 ga. Fore-iron on E-Bay right now: Item: 160300839580. Don't know if it will fit a 16 ga. Might be worth a try.

I am sure I paid more than what I should have.....it is for my Dad so the sentimental aspect overshadowed the $ this time. The forend wood fits just right!

I wouldn't worry too much about the price of the woody bit if it's a one-time for Dad interest but learn from it if you happen to find your interest doesn't end with that. It's easy to happen onto a trap-door spider selling almost anything. A bit different from consumer-this-n-that as the stuff isn't in a big box on every corner and is always seldom seen at the very moment you want it but the answer is the same: comparison shopping and doing what you're doing--following the track of those who already found the cache. Good luck on making a good-looking and functioning restoration.

I will go to our gunsmith tomorrow and snap some photos of his gun....great idea for the before and after shots of the restoration. I am so glad I stumbled upon this forum; you guys are awesome!

The more I have learned about his shotgun, the more excited I am to have it working again for him. This is the first shotgun he bought for himself and when Grandpa took him pheasant hunting for the first time, he was explaining how to lead his shots. At that time, a bird had flown up in front of Dad and he nailed it(I believe he was about 12 years old).
