Well Chopper Lump (The Purdey- not a "chopper" as in Sturgis S.D. in mid-August, right?) Just went to the recent issue of Gun Digest- under Savage- see where ol' "Laurel and Hardly" aka- Dick and Craig have three of the 1920-1940 era M99's in the take-down version For sale- all into 4 figures. One sounds like the one I will have for sale on this forum, omce I get the "Green Light" from ol' Davey Boy-this is a double gun forum, right. 1921 by serial number in 30-30 20" barrel, schnabel forearm, original sights plus a factory installed Marbles tang mounted peep-folds up, folds down, your choice- unaltered, no QD's or drill and tap for a scope-original steel buttplate with the Savage Indian -Head (again, not a 1939 Indian Chief-great bike, but NOT a Harley)--logo at the toe section, bore like a mirror, has of course the brass window shell counter and the top tang cocking indiocator (like the early NID's) and for a rifle that ain't a pre-1964 (actually I prefer and own pre-1950 Model 70's- not too shabby a trigger pull. Shows blueing and carry wear, but no rust or gouges in the stock(s) group, threads on the barrel are MINT- and it locks up nice and snug. Advise if you are interested. RWTF
