I just bought a box of Remington 3" shotshells and I noticed that printed on the side of the shell was, "MAX 1050 BAR".
I was going to shoot them from an old Iver Johnson Skeeter, and I was wondering what your opinion might be of the safety of doing this?

Thanks, Pete

I thought the Maximum chamber pressure for the 3" .410 was 13,000
psi. Doesn't 1050 bar equal 15,000 psi?
Was the maximum chamber pressure for the 3" .410 the same in the 1930s as it is now?
Thanks, Pete

Thanks Revdoc, Do you know if I'm right in thinking that 1050 Bars equal 15000 psi?
If so why are the Remington shells marked 1050 bars Max?
Thanks, Pete

Sorry Pete, this is the best I could find. Larry Brown or Miller should be able to help.

European (CIP) proof pressure of 850 kg per sq. cm. (BAR) = 13,920 psi proof pressure= 10,730 psi service pressure (SAAMI)
