Are they any good? Especially the OU types. Anybody own one? Thanks for the help.. Dr. Dozier sends

Don't know anything about Brno double rifles but it occured to me that you just might be from the Low Country? david

John, They will never be mistaken as best guns, but every Czech made BRNO I have used, or observed in use, was hell for stout and went bang whenever the trigger was pulled. I have shot a OU combination gun in 12x7x57r, and it was an honest 1.5 inch gun at a hundred yards. On a drive hunt outside of Wurzburg, I had a long discussion with a German hunter who had an O/U with a set of 12x12 tubes and a second set of 9.3x74s. he described the rifle set as his "keiler" (boar) killer. He seemed quite pleased with it.

I haven't seen a Czech BRNO double rifle, but I do have two of their sxs sidelock shotguns which were mfg. in the early '60s. I think they are quality guns and a real bargain for what they sell for. If I ran across one of their double rifles in a caliber I could find shells for, I'd strongly consider buying it...Geo
