I have a load from the 2004 Hodgen manual that calls for Remington STS hulls, 20.8 grns. of Universal, Win 209 primer, WAA12R wad that has 7,300 psi and 1180 fps. Seems like a nice light load for my St. Etienne 12ga. I`ll have to cut these hulls down and since i`ve never reloaded shotgun ammo I was hoping you fine folks could run me through the process of prepping hulls. I have a Lee Load-All ( no press bashing-LOL ) and would also like to know at what stages do I have to shim up to load the 2 1/2". I`ll have to make a 1/4" shim plate to fit it. I`d also like to know if a star crimp will be o.k. or should I use a roll ? I`ve been shooting 2 1/2" Westly Richards Game Load`s with great success but just figured i`d try my hand at reloads. I also thought about just reloading the WR`s but these hulls look pretty thin.
