Mike,Is there something about the chamber dimensions of some guns that require the use of brass hulls, or do you just like using them for nostalgia sake? Not trying to stir anything up, just curious.
I do have an English gun that was converted from muzzleloader to breechloader. It has 14 bore barrels and 16 bore chambers and the thin wall 16 gauge MagTech brass shells easily hold 13 bore wads. Also no crimp so no fiddling with extra wads or cheerios or pinto beans (fillers).
And I get a big bang out of the big bang and the smoke and the nostalgia.
I used them today in a 1905 sixteen gauge Parker and shot several birds. When I see the bird exit the smoke screen folded up it gives me a thrill. Or when the dog finds and retrieves the dead bird I wasn't sure I hit it gives me a little kick.
