I thought about that, but as the 3 and 1/2" inch "Roman Candles" are used only in our late Winter Bonus season (come up- we have a five per day limit for 30 days, starts right after New Years, and the first two days (always opens on a Saturday I believe) we have a 4 mallard/day "Bonus Bag". I live near three major river areas that seldom flood over, the lakes and ponds of course are, and the Geese are after all the picked corn fields they can find for forage. I only want two shells in that Black P.O.C. Mossenburgher when I am pass shooting with the 3 and 1/2" shells- cheaper, as you don't have a third round to "possibly waste", and as I used to use a Fox HE (NOT with 3 and 1/2" steel though) I am used to what I call the "Bang-- Bang---pause, then THUMP", if there is no "loose nut behind the stock of course". That 835 is one black ugly "collection of parts that fires shells" BUT- with the overboaring (almost mikes at a 11 gauge) and the ported barrel, plus I added some lead shot in the hollow butt cavity ( a la my 2 M12 "Maggies"- recoil ain't bad-plus you are wearing all the Carhartt and Dickies and Eddie Bean/L.L. Bauer you can find-that late season can sure "seperate the men from the boys"- But thanks for the idea and the concept_ sounds like you might be a tool and die man, or in skilled trades-and you know your shotshells- as a 3" magnum doesn't measure 3" until it has been fired and the crimp opened up completely.
