Right windage and elevation there "Goombah"- Just saw the ABC's "Steve Stunning" of the nightly news- Charlie Gibson- did the usual media anti-gun bias in his report on increased gun and ammo sales- went to a major gun store in Texas-they were selling the "Jim Dumbo anniversary 'evil black rifles'" and ammo like there was no tomorrow-and of course, just like McCain and the fabled "Joe Da Plummer" scenario- old ABC did a set-up a fat slob in a redneckian T-shirt (what- no three K's- that's for Ketchup, Kool-Aide and Kampfires by the way) with an IQ close to the fabled French magic love number-so that the rest of the world would think we gun owners are all Neo-Nazi survivalists=-
Boy do I not like the media-Think I'll pour a stiff glass of John Jameson (2 rocks- water back) tonight and listen to Don Henley's great song about that crapola= "Dirty Laundry"
Never mind the fact that it is Nov and hunting season- most gun stores are busier in OCT-NOV due to that and the pre-Xmas shopping- for those of us (like me, thanks guys) that have a Lady who knows how to keep her man around forever-she curls up next to him, strokes his moustache and whispers- Honey, do you want a Zeiss or a Leupold scope to go with your new Kimber rifle I'm gonna gift wrap for you tomorrow while you are at work?? I was into the scenario until you said that! The Lady who knows how to keep her man explores a bit to the south, I think. Curl

Bass Pro guns were WAY overpriced on their premium stuff. Maybe they've moved some of their inventory to other dealers, or else are in the process of adjusting prices.
Far as I know, Cabela's is still buying used guns. Or so the signs say in their stores. However, there has been a change in their policy. They'll no longer take back a gun they sold you, essentially no questions asked, and refund your money. They will get it fixed for you if you take it back within 30 days of purchase. That may be the change reported above as "not buying used guns".

I hope all the free-loading gun owners who don't support the NRA will get off their cheap butts and join, now.

Larry, the cabelas here is still running the ad in the paper about buying used guns but they did tell me about 3 weeks ago that they're turning down handguns because they had too many and weren't selling. now, that was before the election and i'm betting if someone went in with a bunch of black plastic stuff they'd make an exception.
but their used racks are full to capacity and they did tell me their sales of sporting guns was way down. the ad might just be running because it was paid for well in advance.

The Bass Pro near here north of Cincinnati has never had much in the way of guns in my opinion. Never had any older/used guns. Just newer O/U Condor, lower Berettas O/U, Remington 870s and muzzleloaders. Nice guns mind you. But, not what some of you talk about at the Bass Pro in your areas. I never go there that much. Last time I went shot was $60.00 a bag. Haven't been back since.

Wonder what's up with Bass Pro Shops. About 6 weeks ago I was told by the manager of the Denver Fine Gun Room they were no longer buying used guns. A few days ago I went to the "new" website and find that the listings for all Fine Gun Rooms are severely truncated--next to nothing. This from a place that used to have literally hundreds of 5 figure Italian and English doubles in inventory and online. At the same time, Cabela's online inventory seems to be growing, esp Parkers, LC's, Lefevers. Idle inventory, whether new or used, is idle money meaning no cash flow. No cash flow, no business. Businesses, especially luxury/hobby businesses, are going to have to get lean and mean if they are going to surive the economic storm.

The Hammond Indiana Cabela's used gun rack is poorly stocked. I have seen very few new guns on the rack in the past three months.
