I have a JP Sauer sxs (recent purchase) 1950's steel bar's, auto safety, and after 1 bar is spent it goes on safety (not always but prob soon) the safety is very tight and a hard push forward to go off safety ...... is this something I can adjust or do I need services of sxs gun smith? I have a American Arms sxs turkey special canon (up to 3 1/2", very heavy) and its safety does not have a auto safety but is smooth to use,..... is this something I could do with my JPS also? ....... I can send photo if needed, it is boxlock and I took off butt pad and no access like my AA, behind the tang safety it looks like a small plate with a very fine star screw slot but I am not so sure if design or access ...... I guess this is where they say boxlocks are more diff... to work on than side locks ....... Lucian

Do you shoot it with your thumb on the safety?

Have you tried "single shot" of Ballistol multi-purpose lube?

I will push safety off as I raise sxs to shoot, I was hunting in AZ and I would push safety off when there were birds around, take only one shot because safety would return on from recoil, when I did not have safety off and a single would pop up, if I did not get it off when I raised it, it was too stiff to push off at shoulder.... No, never heard of it, I will buy and try, I did oil and try clicking on and off and helped a bit, I think it was so dry, but still tight and after a shot recoil other bar would be on safety....... Lucian
