Pre-WWII Simsons are very very well made guns, as stated earlier it appears to be re-stocked and at the least a recent stock refinish, however it appears to be very well done.

I would expect to see a more ornate buttstock, if it were the original. By the Late 20s it may have very well had 70 mm chambers. Ask the genetleman that is selling it to desribed the chamber markings - that will at least give you an idea of what it was originally.
