I have attempted several times to take a couple of photos of my newly finished "short" M98 Mauser action that Brother Ken recently finished for me, just to brag a bit, but alas, I am unable to capture the quality of the engraving with my simple camera equipment. Maybe just a few words to say "Thank You Ken" will partially convey how thrilled I am with his work. This is the first time I have actually had any custom engraving done for me, and I am delighted with the fine quality of his "banknote" scroll engraving on my action. I wanted something a bit out of the "ordinary" in building a new rifle, and asked Ken for his suggestions. I am most pleased with the actual engraving itself and the amount of coverage he was able to do for my budget. Just after the engraving was completed, it went to John Gillette for color case hardening, and the combined results are beautiful. This will be the basis for a "classic" style rifle, likely in 7 x 57 Ackely Improved. I am trying to decide now whether to barrel it with a slim tapered octagon barrel or a traditional round barrel. At any rate, I highly recommend both these craftsmen to you if you are considering having custom engraving or color case work done. It's a striking action, and I am sure a nicely rust blued barrel and a nice piece of walnut will set it off even more. I will definitely be calling on Brother Ken for more of his high quality engraving work in the future. Wish I could show you a photo or two, I'll keep trying to take one or two that do it justice. THANK YOU KEN!!

Chief, let me try to talk you out of the AI. It offers only slightly better performance than the standard 7x57 and even tho factory ammo will be shootable in it, resale value will be lower. The same or slightly better performance can be had from the factory .280.

Really nice.

Where did that grip cap come from and would you judge it reasonably appropriate on a Highwall?

Glen, is the Mauser you show being built for an ACGG raffle? The name on the side rail makes me ask. If so, what can you tell us about it?
