Call me a philistine, but I'd prefer the 16ga come with the option of 28" barrels with choke tubes (just like the 20ga and the 12ga).

To me, a gun is much more versatile when you can change choke tubes for varying hunting situations.

Hopfully CSMC reconsiders offeing such a barrel configuration for the 16ga.

I emailed CSM. They said weight of the 16 would run about 6 1/2 lbs. All wood will be American Black Walnut.
When asked about delivery they said " I would think right after the first of the year as we are making them now."
So, pay your money and take your chances. As for me, I am trying to decide which configuration I want. I dont want mine shipped till I get back from this s#*T hole so I am not worried about the wait.
I think its great that there is a scaled 16 double , made in the US for under 3K. My 20 and 28 are very nicely made. No complaints

They told me the 16 would be "a little over 6 pounds". 6-1/2 is getting up there for my tastes.

Then again one could always order it choked M & F and hacksaw and inch of to reduce the weight and open her up!

The announcement refers to a "scaled frame" for the 16.

This is copied from the CSMC RBL FAQ's page:

47. Are the 12 and 16 gauge the same frame? No the 12 gauge is its own frame and the 16 gauge is a specially designed frame just for the 16 gauge. It is not the same as the 12 or 20.
