RWTFOX... Need to jump in and clarify a few things. Randy What Randy ought to have clarified, but was too polite to do so, is that he's a professional outdoor photographer. He really knows what he's doing with a camera. If you want some truly beautiful outdoor photography, buy some of his calenders...Geo

Pintails and Woodie dekes as well-,looks like you are a "River Rat, as am I"- old timer taught me river hunting strategy-never sit downstream of your dekes, as some numbnutz will come sailing down in his canoe and "ground swat" your K-Mart "foolies' some of them will even dust off three shots before they see that plastic and black cord tied to lead anchors don't often "get airborne" as do the real webfeets--My current Lab, the retard-o of the bunch-but when he looked up at me with those rootbeer eyes and licked my outreached hand, I let my hard Irish heart over-rule my even harsher judgement upstairs and took him home. Reminds me of a great Gene Hill dog story "One"--and he sure does like those BLT's my current lady makes for our "hunting snack"-mercy me!! Have a good season-I live to hunt ducks and geese-and you are 99% "Spec. Op.s good to go-just put black tape on the two white shiny areas of the outboard's handle/twist throttle, or cover same with a burlap bag-them webfeets gots good eyes, just like this ol' Fox do- Yeddie!!

I have three true american waterfowl gunning dogs, which I consider to be the Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Dakota, pictured, is a Hunting Retriever Champion I trained myself and is my pride and joy. Hunting out of a BBSB with cork decoys, a Model 21 and a true gentleman of a dog. Not many more fun things in life than that.
You are correct on the river part. We have many small rivers in our area and they provide fairly consistant gunning if you can read the water and understand the pattern. Few things are more rewarding then finding a new spot and setting up well enough for birds to swoop in at 10 yards.
Good luck to you and everyone else this season. I just placed my order for a RBL "Waterfowl Special" which maybe I will be able to hunt next year with and let the Model 21 take a break.

Randy Sorry to take so long to get back to you. I spent the weekend working on by better half ,and failed. I am going to have to rescind my offer. It was love at first sight. My question please: do you breed your dogs regularly, and any plans for the near future? I've wanted a pointing lab for a long time, and there are very few around this neck of the woods in NH( my big issue: we have a choc. that is 1 1/2, and a black that unfortunately is near the end, and the wife wisely wishes to wait a bit. I guess she is right.) Thanks for the consideration, and I hope I haven't caused any inconvenience. Rick
