It was probably a "trickle down" from the gun making fraternity. The early shooting organizations in this country were funded and organized by the gun companies. The founding members of the Interstate Association were guys like Parker Brothers, Von Lengerke, L.C.Smith, and others of like stature. There are other factors, but this is one of them. DT, you are one piece of work. I hope everyone enjoys your posts as much as I do. I spent time at Chalfont and Hegins and never met Billy Perdue or Homer Clark that I remember, but I envy those that did. I was not in the loop, just a little kid following my Dad. Murphy
