Got a nice pair of turkeys the other day with my new W.C.Scott & Sons 12 ga. circa 1925. First one was called in an hour after the flush the second one an hour later.

Ok: I understand the Scott and I understand calling in turkeys. But I don't understand the need for a "turkey retriever"! Jim

I asked jOe much the same question some time ago, and he explained "Turkey Dogging" to me. Fascinating! Then I saw an article on it....I intend to try it as soon I learn how to call turkeys........

I like the the way you hunt turkeys HJoE, the old time way. Excellent photo of your hunt companions, a Boykin ? a Scott, maturing hardwood forest and excellent table fare, not bad company at all. What's the current population of birds in "The Great State of Tennessee" ? It has being a long time since a gobbler was in the bag.

I think that Turkey flusher is actually to lead old Homeless home after a few nips on the Mountain dew.

Nice Joe and thanks for the pictures.
Would you mind telling about the turkey calling and flushing method please? Sounds interesting. Any hunting that can be done with the aid of a dog is very interesting to me.
Best,
Mike
