I'll use whatever gun the members decide get the most votes for tomorrow on pheasants. Opening day is tomorrow for pheasants and quail. Could be some long walking. Choices are LC Smith Ideal 16 ga. full full, Win 21 12 ga cyl, mod, LC Smith 12ga FW Mod Full, Win 21 20 ga Mod Full. I'll post pics of dogs and gun if I get anything or not. Lets have some fun with this. JW

You are in desperate need of something 12br in 6.5lb-6.75lb range with 1/4---3/4 choking and 28" barrel length. It is internationaly acknowledged that the English made and make best bored barrels. Don't take it the wrong way, but there isn't much to pick from the list you have provided. May I suggest something of Birmingham manufacture with Sir Joseph Whitworth Fluid Compressed steel barrels?

I think you should hunt with several if you can break the hunt up. Perhaps the Elsie LW for pheasant and the Win 21 12 ga cyl, mod for quail.....

If forced I would pick LCS "LW" with spreader load in right tube and std. cartridge in the left.

I would go with the LC Smith FWT 12 gauge, M & F
I don't think you need spreaders in a modified choke, but if you took the 16 gauge Smith Ideal, I would go with spreader loads in the right barrels and standard in the left.

I would use the Winchester 21 in 20 Ga. Light to carry, good for pheasants or quail.

If the dogs are pointers go with the Win 12ga 21...if they are flushers go with the LC 12ga FW....
My pheasant seasons opens tomorrow also...No dogs, allowed only one bird each day opening weekend...I think Ill take my Merkel 147 12ga StG ic/mod....

The people have spoken. 12ga LC Smith FW gets the job tomorrow. Good thing weather is supposed to be nice and sunny. This thing is just about 100% and has the original box and paperwork. I'd still take it if it was raining, it'd just have to get wet for the day. Talk to everyone tomorrow. JW
