On average, how long does it usually take to re-blue a set of barrels? I'm sure different bluing processes will mean different time frames. What have you folks who have had barrels re-blued experienced, and what method was used?

When I rust blue it takes about 6 cycles after stripping and polishing. If I'm lucky with my time that's 6 days. I just tell people 2 weeks if there is nothing on the bench ahead of them.

It takes me about a day and a half, lots of short passes is my method, usually 12+ but they go quick.

Is that after polishing, degreasing and prep work? What if it's a "leaker"? Does that include striking off the barrel flats, muzzles and breech after bluing? Are you post polishing the bores? How about oiling, reassembly and function testing?
Just curious.

The day and a half is just for the color and post blue polish, oil, reassembly and test. The prep takes a fair bit of time as I'm sure you are very aware and also varies with condition of the tubes to start with.

Barrels that arrive in my workshop on the monday take 3 to 4 days that includes preperation and polishing steels, afterwards they are packed up at the end of the week and posted on the monday ready to go on the gun you cannot rush blacking some rust blacks take up to 10 days it all depends on your formula, enviroment etc, some barrels take quicker than others needing less passes.
