I have been looking for a sixteen gauge Philly Sterlingworth with 28" barrels and "modern" stock drops. They tend to be lighter than the typical American sixteen.

Somebody sure put some honest wear on some sixteen gauge field grade Ithacas and Lefevers I have. The scratches and gouges don't look like they came from sitting in the gun rack at the gun club either.

I will certainly concede that the twelve gauge was (and is) the predominant field favorite.

Best,

Mike
