A good nylon tow strap or "snatch strap" as it is sometimes called is always onboard. Extra upper and lower radiator hoses, oil, toolbox, and a Hi-Lift jack or floorjack, jumper cables, enough water to fill the radiator, duct tape, safety wire, FIRST AID KIT for people and dog, list of vets along your route and destination (I had to use a vet in SD last yr and the list was handy), and of course the usual guns and clothing stuff.

On the first aid kit, I've been building this over the course of a couple yrs now. I have now included Tramadol for the dog. It is a low side effect pain killer for dogs and people. My vet and the vet in SD prescribed it for an injury on my dog. I also have a surgical stapler for closing wounds, the various wound liniments, dressings, eyewashes, surgical clamps, needlenose pliers, vet-wrap, peroxide, ... and so-on
