I posted a pic of this gun when I first got it, then it went to Steve Bertram for a general tune up and wrist repair. It came home the other day, and we went Prairie Grouse hunting in the Sandhills of Nebraska. It works!

That is a nice gun! While not being bitten by the buying bug, I've looked at a few Lefevers - they've all seemed to be older than dirt. ...but yet there are still some handsome ones around eh!

Chuck: I did end up getting to see your gun when it was in Steve's shop, but it was in pieces at the time. Glad to see he got it all back together, and in such a handsome fashion. I have an FE 16 and love it. What do you feed the old girl? TT

they've all seemed to be older than dirt. Lefever closed the doors & sold out to Ithaca CA 1915. Ithaca sold a few more of them over the next 3-4 years. that's the last ones. The gun pictured here is from early -mid 1890's. They Do hold Up Well, Don't They !!!

TT I have settled on a load of around 21gr 800x ,1oz shot,SG16 wad in a 2 3/4 hull, Federal Purples or Fiochi hulls. Pressure supposed to be +- 7k, mild recoil.....seems effective. BTW hunting those sandhills around Thedford is the most strenous (sp)upland gunning I have ever done. I love it, gets me in shape for elk season! Going back next week....Miller, Lefever never really closed, Dan is in hiding with Elvis!

Last Dollar, Great gun, great picture but the location is the best. No place like the Sandhills of NE. I have many great memories of places with backgrounds just like the one shown in your photo. Thanks for sharing. Jim

Way to go, Dollar. I'm with Twister. Great gun, great picture. Beautiful country! That had to be a great day. Is the grip cap original?
