I would check out Jeff's Outfitters. I know he has a lot of sizes.

the 40" long models would work on take-down auto's and pumps. and now that you mention it i could use one of those for auto-5's.

the size i need is 20" long on the inside for a winchester model 12 i cut to riot configuration for my travel gun. i.e. one that isn't immediately obvious it's a gun. i've given up on finding anything like that and am going to resort to making one out of leather.

I took an old violin case and made a "Chicago style" gun case out of it for a .410 I have.

George Pittelko custom makes the finest leg-o-mutton cases I've ever seen. I'm sure he could manage a 26" model.

Thanks everyone ...... strill in the hunt. I've checked all the suggested spots ... no luck so far. This case is for dragging my BSS 20 around so I don't want to have soimething made that is worth more than the gun. I think I'll end up with a 28" and pad the bottom ..... I don't like a lot of room in the case for things to move around.

Roger,

Thanks for the tip on these. I went to the Cabela's website and saw them in their Bargain Cave in either green or tan suede for only $19.95 each. Then I remembered your comment in your subsequent post about the grease spots, and it sounded like that would be my fate with them as well. So I then saw that they had them on close-out in tan top-grain leather as well for only $39.95 each.

Noting their current special flat-rate promo-shipping of $4.95 for orders over $150, and the fact that I live in a state with no Cabela's retail presence and thus no sales tax, I decided to splurge and just ordered 4 of them in the tan top grain leather.

It's just not everyday that you can buy $139.95 leather gun cases delivered to your front door for $41.00 each.

Thanks again!

Dave
