I have been through a few down here in South Florida. Good preparation before makes afterwards alot easier. Buckle the house up tight. Make sure you have lots of fresh water stored in a secure place. Freeze some milk jugs solid now and use them like block ice in the fridge. Drink them as they melt. Don't open the fridge unless you have to and when it starts to thaw, cook it all up and eat well. All this assumes you loose power.
Extra propane and fuel is great to have. My basics are water, food, propane, gas for the generator, flashlights / batteries lots of 12 gauge shells and the shorty Remington 870 for univited visitors.
Stay safe and my prayers are with ya'll.
Mike
earplugs help because once the winds get over about 95 mph, it sounds like a freight train ;-)
