Harry and Brent,

I've been fortunate enough to see all the pieces/parts of this rifle as it progressed through the build...and can't wait to hold the completed piece and get a first-hand look...Mr. Hurst's engraving has to be seen to be fully appreciated...and Doug's checkering is simply superb (sure wish I could do HALF as well).

A couple of details Glenn didn't mention about the Wesson...it sports skeleton buttplate, grip cap,and forend-key escutcheons made by Glenn, out of Damascus steel. Theres also a second forend, with a beautifully sculpted Alex Henry forend tip of ebony, for when the rifle isn't being shot in competition.

My greatest mentor explained to me that these things are not errors or mistakes, they are "features" and "options".

The onliest such feature in the picture I can see is the timing (or "clocking" for you British types) of the screw on the top of the tang. If that is what you are referring to, you are correct. It was left that way deliberately. As a screw that compresses wood, it will want to be tightened just a wee bit after the rifle has been shot a few times.

All right Glenn, I'll let you off this time, that's a pretty good excuse, I'll have to remember it. lol.

Great work Sir,

Harry
