There is an unexplained reference in Carder that states he did work for Uncle Dan.
Carder did make a couple of mistakes in SxS for Y2K, and this may be one.
If he did work for Lefever, it was for a very short time after he returned from West Virginia to New Youk.

Best,
John

Hello Bob,
Do you have Jerry Swinney's Gun Report's article on Hollenbeck??
I don't have the article but think I have a copy of a draft for it.

Thats the problem. We finely get a good Gov and then we might loose her. The next in line is the LT Gov Parnell. But Parnell is running for a house of rep seat. We just had our primary a week ago and the Parnell/Young is to close to call. The last I heard there was only 100 votes difference between them.
So if Parnell gets the seat in the house, Im not sure how it works after that. I was wondering is Sarah gets to apoint someone?
Chris when Dave redid this board in 2001 I thought he was going to clean up the users that hid behind clown names. It seems to be running wild again. Im going to refuse to post on anything where members will not id them selfs. As guys like pmag, Jagermeister (jughead) are sure tough hidding on this BBS. Enough said.
Chris my 8 is done and Ben L. has some rem cases he said he would split with us. I have to go to work for a week and if my eye Doc gives me the A OK smoke will be comming out of mine in a week or so.

John
I dont think the Carder book holds much water. I have gone through Jerry Sweenies books and Jerry has him listed in Syracuse from 1878-1890, 1893-1898, 1911-1933. I know that he worked for Smith and Syracuse Arms and built bike parts while he was in Syracuse.
In the past I had heard that he had done time with Lefever in his early years.

Bob:
I agree that Carder is full of mistakes and that is partly due to his having taken so much from Gardner, and others, without more independent research.
I had not read that Frank worked for Lefever before doing his best/worse in W. Va. and returning to New York.
Knowing no more than I do, I can't say yes or no.
As to using handles on a BBS---There are some valid reasons for doing so, but it is not valid to use one to make mischief. Long ago, I decided that I would never post anything that I would not say to a man to his face. I am. also, ready to admit that I make mistakes or that I may be in error. Wish more thought like this.
Best,
John

Bob, what do you do to the Rem empties to make them fit in the gun? Can we see pictures of the gun? If you need a few more unresized cases, let me know. Bill Murphy

If McCain sticks in your throat, then I assume that B Hussane Obama slides down ? John McCain probably has a few rough edges but not like the two Dem,s.Obama is an empty gun control suit.I am impressed with Sarah.Seems she is doing a good job up in AK

From my research, info I either got from Al Atterbury or H.J. Swinney, I found that Frank A. Hollenbeck learned the gun trade from Renselaer R. Moore of Cortland, New York.
