The only shotguns that I know a little bit about are L.C. Smiths. The extension rib was brazed not soldered and there is a line that you can see in most grades. The top and bottom ribs were soft soldered.
With the stress of this piece on most shotguns for a good solid lock-up I would hope that they also are brazed on also.
