I have a Browning BSS 20 gauge that has broken extractors/ejectors. New ones are unavailable, believe me, I been looking for two years. I just received my broken ones back from Jack First with the response that it is cost prohibitive to repair. Now the quest begins for similiar extractors that maybe I can get to fit myself. The new CZ Bobwhits and Ringnecks look to be similiar. Does anyone have any experience with these guns? And of you have one in 20 gauge, could you send a photo of the extractors? Any help would be appreciated, my BSS needs to get back in the hunt.

There's a place in Canada called Western something that has BSS parts. I may have them in my Favorites, in my other computer.

I have to ask. If you have the old parts, can they be repaired/welded and remachined?

RRB, you seem to be using the terms extractors/ejectors interchangeably. The mechanisms and the functions are different. My recollection is that BSS's are all ejector guns, and the Miroku and Daly (and maybe WesternField) versions came in both ejector and extractor versions. So, some of those parts may fit, but you have not told us exactly what is broken, so...? Depending upon what is broken, I would think about having the gun converted from ejector to extractor, if feasible. Extractor guns are simpler with fewer moving parts and less to break. Don't know if this can be done with a BSS, but I know it has been done to Parkers (including one of mine) and other doubles.
Midwest Gun Works in MO is a Browning shop and may have some advice for you. You might also go to GunBroker and do a search for Miroku or Daly; there is a gunsmith in AZ who is always advertising Miroku parts and repairs; if you can't find him, post back here and I'll dig out the contact info.

You should check the Browning website. They, at one time, listed several shops that have parts for "obsolete" Browning guns.
Hope this helps.

Jim's right, Western in Canada acquired the BSS parts from Browning. I bought tang screws from them last year. Don't have the full company name and contact info handy but can get it tonight if no one else provides it.

Western Gun Parts in Canada bought all the Browning BSS parts inventory. They never did get an online catalog accessible to the public. You have to call and they'll fax, email, or mail you a bad copy of a parts catalog. Then you have to find out whether or not they have the part you need. They don't have everything. Another option is to inquire with some of the gunsmiths here to make one if Western Gun doesn't have them. http://www.westerngunparts.com/WESTERN GUN PARTS Gun Part Distributors 18124 - 107 Ave., Edmonton, AB, T5S 1K5, Canada Phone: (780) 489-5711 * Fax: (780) 489-5717 Toll Free Fax Order Line 1-888-489-5717 Email: wgp@westerngunparts.com Alternate Email Address: wgp@junctionnet.com Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday * 8 am to 4 pm (MST)
