What are my chances of finding a set of used barrels for a FN ( Fabrique Nationale ) sidelock produced in the 30s?

I have a 16 and a 12.

How about a stock for same?

I have been searching for a set for a Lefever 20 ga DS, and a 16 ga. Baker B grade for years with no luck. Part of the difficulty is that most barrels do not have the makers name on them, so once separated from the gun, they tend to lose their identity. I started compiling a file of photos of the lumps, undersides, and breech sections of various makes which I take along with me to gun shows. This allowed me to instantly recognize a beautiful set of 12 ga. Syracuse Lefever barrels at a show this past winter which the seller priced at $20.00. I about broke my arm reaching for my wallet, as I had an H grade 12 ga. which has poor, shortened twist barrels. About 1/4 turn on Uncle Dans' compensating ball put them nicely on face. There lies the other problem you have. When you find a set for your FN, it will be very unlikely you can just pop them on your gun and go hunting. But if you can post a photo of what you're looking for, maybe someone here has them and doesn't realize what they are. Good luck, Keith

Barrels are often the first thing to be worn out or damaged. Like in the auto junk yard business there are fewer decent bodies or engines than there were rear ends. People often needed bodies or engines and rarely rear ends. Barrels go first as a rule.

As long as we're on the subject, anybody have an extra set of Lefever 16ga steel barrels in good shape?
