Gunflint Chas, you would have us believe that every nameless droid that posts here is as pure as the driven snow. Some, might be. However, over the years, the dustups that have become vulgar to the point of Dave stepping in typically involve a named long-timer, and a droid. Were it my board (it ain't, I freely admit) EVERYONE who participated would sign in with his or her name. No sign in, no free use. Perhaps a better policy (for Dave) would be, "Want to post as a nameless droid? Pay Dave a token of appreciation for that privledge", say $50-$100 a year. With the understanding, he gets to bounce your butt, for the usual reasons, should he feel the need.
Keeping truly private information out of cyberspace is not as difficult as some would have us believe (if I can do it, anyone can). It occurs to me, that none of the reasons posted above seem to be good enough to have Dave have to step in and threaten the use of his big red "denied access" button, on, what is, his PRIVATE PROPERTY. The worst, nameless offenders know who they are. Or, were. This is no-one's private playground (save, Dave's) and the whole "freedom, privacy, for me" thing rings a bit hollow in light of that.
That's my opinion. I would be the first to cheer if Dave were to wake up one day and decide to share that opinion. I bet a few others would, too. And I bet they all use their real, given names already. Until then, I guess I'll ATTEMPT the high road, or horse, for what it's worth.
I, not the originator of the post, asked you where your level of expertise was in double guns. I didn't really expect an answer. I wasn't disappointed, was I? I've learned, here, and at other sites, a posting by Gunflint Charlie won't have much useful, factual information on the subject of double guns or sporting firearms. I would equate it to the typical jOe post, but with better spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
But, just as useless. That's my opinion, also.
Best,
Ted
