Different strokes for different folks.

If the guy thinks he'd like a leather shooting coat then that's his business.

It's posts like that which make simple, interesting threads turn ugly.

Interesting responses. I thought the hunting outfit looked kind of neat in the display. The display mentioned that these outfits were once popular in the Dakota's for their wind breaking tendencies and also the protection they provided the owner against thistles. I have no doubt that there are more effective outfits being made today, I probably have them in my closet as I type this. I suppose you could also say that a Rem 870 has many superior qualities to any of the LC's that I own, but I don't own one and have no intention of ever doing so. If practicality is the only reason to own something than I think a lot of us here need to clean house.

Excellent response and very very true.

I'm with you, I don't care if it's better, I prefer the old ways.

I would check Cowboy action shooting clothing outfits or Black power shooting lines. I'm sure you can still get the stuff. I would think some of the vintager clothing makers would be doing something like you want in moleskin and maybe kid

Depends on whether you prefer costume parties to hunting parties. Some guys spend more hours thinking about how they look afield, than they actually spend hunting. When one encounters these catalogue cowboys out hunting (usually close to their cars), they are gorgeous to behold.

Personally - because I look like a slob no matter what I wear - I'd skip the leather and choose purely practical gear.

Are you referring to my post in answer to Buzzbee? If so, would you mind explaining a bit further why MY post made the thread turn ugly. Thanks.
