I met a German hunter a couple of years back (in Germany) wearing a leather hunting coat with a heavy wool sweater underneath. The jacket was plain but interesting. He was also wearing knee length leather trousers with rubber boots and a wool brimmed hat with a Gemsbart attached to the side of the crown.(I know, surprise, huh!!)If I remember correctly, he was carrying a couple of pheasant (or hares??) suspended by leather thongs attached to a leather belt. The color was a dark green. Whether or not there was an internal game pouch I do not know. A search of some of the European hunting magazines might turn up something.
