No gap between bbls and breech face - at all.

There should be a gap between bbls and water table, but not much of one. I don't think it should be all that visible.

And there should be no play in the bbls - but this can be separate from being off the face. It can be related to a worn bolt/bite relationship.

Bbls do not wear it. They wear out.

The wearing in story is just an excuse for poor workmanship.
