I also said "people are basically lazy" and I'll stand on that observation. No serious offense is intended toward anyone here. I'm also a member of "people". It's easier to ask someone else for information than to dig it out for yourself. But you also run the risk of getting a lot of misinformation. The answers on the ATF's FAQ are clear and understandable to me. Certainly as clear as some answers that show up here. And they are the "just the facts, ma'am".
A very common question is: Is an FFL required on both ends of an interstate sale? Responder A says "yes". Responder B says "no". Who you gonna believe? The ATF FAQ's will give you the correct answer. My local gunsmith/FFL believes an FFL is required on both ends if buying from a dealer but if the sale is between private parties, NO FFL is needed. He's wrong on both counts! (Interstate sales)
I know a few states have their own additional idiot additional regulations.
