Our club's "Guns Of August" Cowboy Shoot this past week had record attnedance. Shooters from all over the US and Canada attended and participated. This was our largest shoot to date and was very successful. People are already registering for next year. Congratulations to all the shooters who attended.

We had one at my club this weekend...over a 100 shooters. I couldn't stand to go watch.
Did you see a bunch of chopped off SxS's ?

Most of them I saw now have replicas of the 1893 or 1897 with shorter barrels. Or lever action rifles. Even a lot of the pistols now are replicas. They are a lot less expensive to buy. Our entire club was filled with cars and campers all week, so I don't know what the attendance was. I'll probably find out at our monthly meeting this week.

When they shoot skeet with a lever or pump action they shoot two shots, so they have to cock the gun for the second shot like any other time. They can also shoot five stand or any other events they want.

Oh come on JoE.... I luv to see A.H. Fox guns with amputated tubes. It makes my Sterli game gun more valuable. Another one getin' high attrition rates is baaaad ole' Winnie 97 pump. Better get one of them gems in original shape while you still can.

There are still tons of the 1897s around. I had a chance to buy a nice one a few weeks ago for $475.00 but I passed on it. They were pretty much clunkers. Good to see someone putting them to good use. They aren't good for much else, anyway.
